Deadline or filing window

There is no statutory deadline, but the warrant must be filed before the suspect can leave Ireland or destroy evidence; act without undue delay.

• • Accused’s full legal name and passport number entered correctly.
• • Exact ICC offence and statutory reference cited.
• • All supporting affidavits attached and signed.
• • Officer’s signature, date, and badge number present.
• • Form printed on A4 paper, legible and unaltered.
• • Cover letter addressed to the High Court Registry included.
• • Copy retained for your records with filing date noted.

How to file this form

1. 1Prepare the completed Form No. 16 with all required attachments.
2. 2Print the form on plain A4 paper; do not staple, use a paperclip.
3. 3Deliver the original to the High Court Registry in Dublin.
4. 4Obtain a receipt or docket number from the Registry clerk.
5. 5Send a copy to the DPP office for their records.
6. 6Monitor the court’s docket for the issuance of the provisional arrest warrant.
