34A.12  Variation / Renewal Of Authorisation - Criminal Justice (Surveillance) Act 2009, Section 6(1)

Deadline or filing window

The variation or renewal must be filed before the expiry date shown on the current authorisation; otherwise the surveillance must stop until a new authorisation is granted.

Before you submit

• • Reference number of the existing authorisation entered correctly.
• • Proposed new dates are within the maximum period allowed by law.
• • Justification explains why the change is necessary.
• • All required annexes (risk assessment, operational plan) attached.
• • Form signed by an authorised officer.
• • Contact details of the applicant are up to date.
• • Submission confirmation (email or receipt) saved.
• • Copy of the original authorisation included.
• • Check that the correct submission channel (online/post) is used.
